Kamekio D. Lewis is the founder of A New Day Rehabilitation & Counseling Services.  She is a native of Camden, Arkansas, but currently resides in Memphis, TN with her husband, Dennis Lewis, and their two children, Kaveyon & Kemareyon Lewis. She graduated from Camden/Fairview High School and has earned bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, a Masters of Education from Auburn University, and she is a 2010 graduate of Ministry Training International. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and a member of The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Memphis Chapter. She served 8 years in the United States Army and she is very committed to touching and changing lives. She has continously worked in the helping field throughout her military career in Alaska, Kansas, and now in Tennessee.

Kamekio is also the author of Looking 4 Love…In All the Wrong Places. This book gives a detailed account of her experiences going through and surviving an abusive relationship. Her sincere hope is that her testimony will inform, inspire, and encourage women to still hope, stand on faith, and walk in love as they transition from being the victim to being victorious. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new (2Corinthians 5:17).

Message from Founder of New Day
My passion is to share the love of God through ministry and fellowship with women and children. I enjoy volunteering my time to help others and I participate in several outreach ministries. I have worked in several counseling capacities, with women and teens experiencing abuse, alcohol and drug addictions, and/or alcohol and drug charges.  In this field, I have seen too many people overwhelmed by environmental stressors and confined to their own mental prisons.  As I talked to them, very few could see past their current situations and many still held on to past pains and struggled with change, because their environment told them they shouldn't and in their minds they thought they couldn't.  I am here to encourage them to make their dreams a reality.
Too many of us are sitting on the sidelines watching our youth drop out of high school, commit crimes, and spend their life doing time. I ask you on today to support our efforts in striving to make a safer community for all of us as we embark on this great journey for "A New Day!"

I want to thank you in advance  for partnering with me on this New Journey.  The work that we are doing, not only helps the individual, but it helps us collecitvely as a group.  We are working together to help  provide options to improve their education and get better jobs.  This caring and sharing strategy helps the economy and we benefit from more educated citizens who are better able to provide for their families.
